I. About Tapioca Starch:

According to news from cassava factories, demand from China shows signs of slowing down when there is information that the Tay Ninh area has started running the machine and the Central Highlands region is expected to run the machine in the first half of August 2024.
 

The exchange rate of the US Dollar and the Chinese Yuan both decreased, causing disadvantages for export units when actual VND revenue decreased.
 

 The pressure to sell inventory in the 2023 - 2024 season of some factories from the North Central provinces to the North is increasing as demand from China slows down.
 

The Thai Cassava Association announced that the selling price of cassava starch decreased by 05 USD/ton compared to the previous week, at 525 USD/ton FOB Bangkok (announced July 16, 2024) due to preparations for entering the new crop.
Note: Export prices published on Thailand's website are the transaction prices of the previous week.
 

Normally, Thailand's announced price is 30 - 50 USD/ton higher than the actual price.

Vietnamese factories are offering a discount of 05 USD/ton compared to last week, in the range of 490 - 515 USD/ton FOB Ho Chi Minh port.
 

II. About Cassava Chips:

According to news from cassava chip exporters, currently, Chinese customers continue to increase their demand for Vietnamese cassava chips.
 

However, the price customers accept to buy is quite low, not enough to cover costs, so export units still wait for prices to increase before selling.
