I. About Tapioca Starch:

According to news from cassava factories, demand from China is showing signs of improvement as production demand for the Moon Cake season is approaching.

In the context of the US Dollar increasing in value compared to the Yuan, Chinese customers want to buy in CNY instead of USD.

Along with that, the buying price trend of Tapioca Starch in Yuan increased slightly.

The Thai Cassava Association announced that the selling price of cassava starch decreased by 05 USD/ton compared to the previous week, at 530 USD/ton FOB Bangkok (announced on July 9, 2024) due to preparing for the new crop.  Note: Export prices published on Thailand's website are the transaction prices of the previous week.
 

Normally, Thailand's announced price is 30 - 50 USD/ton higher than the actual price.

Vietnamese factories are offering prices unchanged from last week, in the range of 495 - 520 USD/ton FOB Ho Chi Minh port.
 

II. About Cassava Chips:
 

According to news from cassava chip exporters, currently, Chinese customers have shown signs of returning to inquire and accept higher prices of about 5-7 USD/ton due to Thailand's price increase.

However, because Vietnam's inventory of cassava chips in the 2023 - 2024 season is not much, exporters are still waiting for prices to increase before selling.
