I. About Tapioca Starch:

According to news from cassava factories, raw material prices in Tay Ninh area increased as many cassava factories in this area operated machines.
 

The increase in CNY exchange rate is beneficial for export units in the form of DAF, on the contrary, the USD exchange rate tends to decrease, causing disadvantages for export units by sea.
 

However, due to slow purchasing transactions from China while it is still the 7th lunar month, the DAF price decreased slightly.
 

The Thai Cassava Association announced that the selling price of Tapioca Starch remained the same as the previous week, at 525 USD/ton FOB Bangkok (announced on August 13, 2024). Note: The export price announced on Thailand's website is the transaction price of the previous week.
 

Normally, the announced price of Thailand is 30 - 50 USD/ton higher than the actual price.
 

Vietnamese factories are offering the same price as last week, in the range of 480 - 505 USD/ton FOB Ho Chi Minh City port.
 

II. About Cassava chips:
 

According to information from cassava chip trading units, there is still demand from Chinese customers, however, the price is low, many exporting units still accept to keep goods in stock waiting to sell later; even waiting until the 2024 - 2025 crop.
