I. About Cassava Starch:

According to news from cassava factories, the demand for purchasing goods from Chinese customers slowed down last week.The reason is said to be the preparation for the Chinese National Day holiday which lasts until October 7, 2024.In addition, the inventory at Qingdao port, China is still high, so Chinese traders have slowed down the progress of bringing goods to Qingdao warehouses.
 

The Thai Cassava Association announced that the selling price of Cassava Starch decreased by another 5 USD/ton compared to the previous week, at 515 USD/ton FOB Bangkok (announced on September 24, 2024). Note: The export price announced on Thailand's website is the transaction price of the previous week.Thailand's announced price is usually 30 - 50 USD/ton higher than the actual price.Vietnamese factories are offering prices down $5/ton compared to last week, in the range of $480 - $500/ton FOB Ho Chi Minh City port.
 

II. About Cassava Chips:

According to information from cassava chip trading units, the price of cassava chips in the 2024 - 2025 crop is expected to continue to decrease due to the decrease in fresh cassava root prices.
For units that still have cassava chips in stock from the old crop, the price decrease will make the decision to purchase the new crop much more difficult when having to balance both finances and prices.

Export starch prices:
FOB HCM: $480-500/MT
DAF Lang Son: 3,500-3,620CNY/MT
FOB Bangkok: $510/MT
